Is Mail-In Voting Secure Amidst Rampant Postal Theft?
Democrats’ Deceptive Talking Point on Universal Mail-In Voting
The Democrats have been pushing the narrative that universal mail-in voting is completely “safe” and “secure.” However, recent incidents of postal theft across the country are exposing the flaws in their argument.
Just last week, CBS News Chicago reported multiple cases of mail theft and crime in the Windy City. Thieves had cut open blue drop-off mailboxes in Frankfort and Orland Park, prompting local law enforcement to warn residents about potential fraudulent activity.
CBS News Chicago also obtained data from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) revealing that arrow key thefts, which are used to open blue drop-off boxes and larger mailboxes, had not been properly tracked until 2021. The USPS had not made a single arrest for arrow-key-related thefts between 2020 and March 2023. The accuracy of this information was questioned by a U.S. Postal Inspectors official.
These incidents in Chicago are not isolated. They are indicative of the widespread mail theft problem plaguing the nation.
In response to the rising mail theft, USPS announced countermeasures, including installing high-security blue collection boxes and replacing antiquated arrow locks with electronic locks. However, despite these efforts, there have been over 25,000 reported thefts from mail receptacles in the six months ending March 30, 2023.
So, how can Democrats continue to claim that voting by mail is safe and secure? The truth is, they prioritize their own political agenda over the security of our elections. Widespread, unsupervised mail-in voting is simply a tool for leftist activists to harvest low-effort votes and gain an advantage over Republicans.
Democrats’ disregard for the security and integrity of our elections is evident. They are willing to embrace risky voting policies like mail-in voting in order to acquire and maintain power.
