Huckabee commends Trump vision for Gaza: A ‘what if’ scenario – Washington Examiner
In a recent interview,Mike Huckabee, the incoming U.S. ambassador to Israel, expressed his belief that the Hamas terrorist organization will eventually cease to exist, irrespective of the future of the Gaza Strip. Huckabee commented on President Donald Trump’s viewpoint on Gaza, suggesting that Trump saw potential for the region’s change, indicating that it could have been a prosperous area akin to Singapore. He emphasized that under Hamas’ governance, Gaza has deteriorated substantially, likening it’s current state to that of Haiti or worse.
Huckabee praised Trump’s bold vision for Gaza, hoping that people would take it seriously, noting that significant peace in the Middle East was achieved during Trump’s first term. He confirmed his patience while awaiting confirmation for his ambassador position and highlighted that Trump’s approach to Gaza exhibits an innovative mindset, suggesting that the president’s methods involve discarding conventional frameworks in favor of fresh solutions.
Mike Huckabee commends Trump’s vision for Gaza as a ‘what if’ scenario
Incoming Israeli ambassador Mike Huckabee assured that the Hamas terrorist group will cease to exist in the future, regardless of what the future holds for the Gaza Strip.
President Donald Trump has expressed interest in owning Gaza in its efforts to provide peace in this Middle East, a move that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has deemed “a remarkable idea.” In giving his take on the matter, Huckabee contended that the future of Gaza is currently unknown, but that its future will definitively not have Hamas in it, calling this “a done deal.”
“President Trump did something bold; he looked into the future and said kind of a ‘what if,’” Huckabee explained on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “We don’t know exactly what might happen in Gaza, but here’s what could have happened in Gaza. Gaza could have been Singapore. Instead, Hamas turned it into Haiti and, in fact, maybe worse, far worse than that.”

Huckabee then expressed hope people will “listen” to the president’s vision for Gaza, claiming that the only time “significant peace” was achieved in the Middle East was during Trump’s first term.
Huckabee previously ran for president in 2016, and has since been nominated by Trump to be the nation’s ambassador to Israel. When asked when he will get confirmed, Huckabee stated he is being “patient” on this matter but hoped that it will take place soon.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has contended that Trump’s proposal for the United States to own Gaza stems from the president’s ability to think “outside the box.” Huckabee, meanwhile, suggested that Trump’s leadership “throws the box away” to start over from scratch.
