Humberto Fontova: Dying to Escape Socialism
“At least five people have been confirmed dead and five others are missing after a makeshift raft smuggling migrants from Cuba sank off the Florida coast,” reported Last week, the Daily Mail. “The U.S. Coast rescued nine migrants and recovered one body after the boat capsized Saturday about 50 miles off the shores of Little Torch Key, an island in the Florida Keys. The U.S. Coast Guard’s 7th District said that at least 19 people were in the vessel and four drowned immediately after the boat capsized.”
A quick glance at the headlines in recent news will reveal many like this one. Yet:
“People enjoy life in Cuba like in few other places. They’re safe, literate and healthy!” Time magazine was a big fan in their World’s Greatest Places Issue, from March, 2015.
In 2011, Newsweek magazine named Cuba as one of its top destinations. “The Best Countries in the World,” In terms of quality of living. “Cuba outdoes its fellow middle-income countries in quality of life,” Explained the 1993 “National Magazine Award for General Excellence” winner.
“Fidel Castro first and foremost is and always has been a committed egalitarian. He wanted a system that provided the basic needs to all… Cuba has superb systems of health care and universal education…We greeted each other as old friends.” (Former President of the United States and official “Elder Statesman” The Democrat Party.)
Tony Blair famously said, “One simple way to measure a country’s population is to see how many people want to enter… and how many want to leave.” Well, prior to the Castro brothers’ and Che Guevara’s Stalinist coup in 1959, Cuba took in more immigrants (primarily from Europe) as a percentage of population than did the U.S., including the Ellis Island years. The 1950s saw Cubans emigrating with all their possessions and U.S. visas being issued for the asking. In fact, less Cubans lived here than Americans in Cuba.
You’d never guess this from the Fake News media, Hollywood, or your professors, but in 1953 more Cubans vacationed in the U.S. (and voluntarily returned to Cuba) than Americans in Cuba. Yes, pre-Castro Cubans, the U.S. “tourist playground.”
“What?” You say. But you’ve always heard that it was the other way around? This is the truth Cuba Tourists loved it as a vacation spot. Americans? Indeed it was—but the tourist traffic went both ways, as befit a nation described by a 1957 UNESCO report thusly: “One feature The Cuban social structure a large middle class.” So check it out here—and please For more information, click the links.
Although I doubt that they will make any such statements given their track record, I have never heard anyone spout about the wonderful quality of life in East Germany. “its free healthcare, education…blah, blah.” Yet Over 10 times There have been more people who tried to flee Communist Cuba (which liberals praise) than those who attempted to flee Communist East Germany.
In fact, when liberals hail the Castros and Che Guevara’s communism as somehow “different” They are not a typical Iron Curtain communist.
It’s WORSE!
Between two and three hundred Many people were killed trying to breach Berlin Wall. Between twenty-five to forty Thousand people (men, women, and children, entire families at a time) have died trying to escape Castro and Che Guevara’s Cuba.
Erich Honecker, a former East German dictator, was tried in 1992 for the deaths of 192 Germans while trying to cross the Berlin Wall. Some human rights organizations estimate that there were actually three. hundred One in eight East Germans died trying to escape East Germany or breach the Berlin Wall.
After the many thousands of machine-gun blasts from their Frontier “Guards,” The Berlin Wall was also officially called the “Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart”) kept disturbing Castro and Che’s coastal subjects, the Castro brothers hit upon the scheme of having the Soviet helicopters flown by their “Guards” to hover over the escaping freedom-seekers, often consisting of entire families—but to hold-off on shooting.
Instead of torturing the families to death with machine guns, years of tradition demanded that they drop sandbags on the rickety rafts or tiny boats to destroy and sink them. The Castroites could then have their deputy-work done by the Hammerheads and Tiger Sharks. Screams, groans and gurgles, after all, don’t carry nearly as far as machine-gun blasts.
“The best revolutionary German man I’ve ever known was Erich Honecker,” said Fidel Castro on June 1th 2012 commemorating the 18th anniversary of the East German Stalinist’s death. “I maintain feelings of profound solidarity with Honecker.”
“What a Chump!” Castro was probably thinking. “A measly 192?”
“In One week during 1962 Over 400 firing squad blasts were counted From the execution yard under our cells,” recalls a former Cuban political prisoner. Roberto Martin Perez, freedom fighter, to this writer
“This is the most brutal kind of behavior that I have ever seen.”” said Robert Gelbard, deputy assistant secretary of state for Latin America during the Clinton administration. “This is worse than the events at the Berlin Wall! Gelbard watched as desperate Cubans tried to swim to Guantanamo Bas when machine guns opened and the water around them became white.
The brave Cuban Frontier retrieved the corpses “Guards” in a boat using the same type of gaffing hooks the lucky contestants in the Castro-regime-sponsored “Hemingway Fishing Festival” they were using the nearby waters to yank Marlin, Tuna, and other fish from their Cuban-registered yachts.
Spanish medical examiners discovered that Adonis G.B., a Cuban stowaway for an airline, had been found by Spanish medical examiners in September 2011. His throat was slit. He probably died upon takeoff, meaning he probably died more quickly and painlessly than the many others who perished escaping Cuba’s free and fabulous healthcare.
The tens of thousands dead Cuban rafters were a different story. Many of these desperate rafters died slowly from sunburn and thirst, probably like Apaches captives. Others died gasping for air and choked after their legs and arms gave out. They gulped the last swig of seawater much like the crew from The Perfect Storm. Still others were eaten alive—drawn and quartered by the serrated teeth of Hammerheads and Tiger sharks much like Captain Quint in Jaws. These last few died the most mercifully. We’ve all seen sharks eat their meals, and Discovery Channel has shown us that.
“In space no one can hear you scream,” This is the advertisement for the original Alien. Same for the middle of the Florida straits—except, of course, for your raft-mates. While clinging to the disintegrating raft, while watching the fins rushing in and water turn red—they hear the screams all too clearly.
Hundreds of these stories have been documented by the Coast Guard over the years that coincided with Castroite Cuban rule. If the causes of these horrors were more politically-correct, we would have endless books, movies and documentaries, as well as Survival-Story specials and interviews on TV. Unfortunately, this Caribbean holocaust was orchestrated by agents. The Left’s most prominent pin-up boys.
