Agents denied access to Hunter Biden’s laptop during investigation.
Investigators Denied Access to Hunter Biden’s Laptop, Hindering Criminal Investigation
Investigators working on Hunter Biden’s criminal case have testified that they were denied access to crucial information found on his infamous laptop by prosecutors. This obstruction has severely limited their ability to further investigate potential crimes committed by the president’s son.
During a hearing before the House Oversight Committee, Internal Revenue Service supervisory agent Gary Shapley, one of the whistleblowers, revealed that IRS special agent Joe Ziegler, the other whistleblower, had requested access to the laptop during a meeting with investigators. However, they were informed that they would not be granted access as part of their investigation into Biden.

Shapley, who was Ziegler’s superior, recounted how Ziegler raised concerns about the lack of access to the laptop’s information. In response, federal prosecutor Lesley Wolf, who was involved in the Hunter Biden investigation, stated that the decision not to provide access was made by the prosecutors themselves.
According to Shapley’s testimony, the authenticity of Biden’s laptop had been confirmed back in 2019. However, the Department of Justice continued to hinder the investigation. For instance, when investigators requested a search warrant for then-President Joe Biden’s guest house, where Hunter Biden had been staying, they were denied. Wolf believed that executing the search warrant would create negative optics.
Shapley expressed his frustration, stating, “With the circumstances of the probable cause being achieved and knowing that this was there, I don’t know how she could have not allowed us to execute the search warrant.”
Furthermore, any attempts to question or pursue leads involving Joe Biden were strongly discouraged. Ziegler revealed in a pre-recorded interview with CBS News that whenever they wanted to ask questions related to the president, they were met with responses like, “That’s going to take too much approvals. We can’t ask those questions.”
Similarly, when investigators discovered text messages sent by Hunter Biden to a Chinese business associate, where he mentioned his father’s presence to pressure the associate into sending him money, they were prohibited from using location data to verify if the elder Biden was indeed with Hunter when those messages were sent.
Shapley emphasized the importance of following up on the location data, but unfortunately, the prosecutors did not support this line of inquiry.
