Hunter Biden’s lawyer uses aggressive legal strategy, deposes laptop shop owner.
Hunter Biden’s Laptop Saga Continues
The latest development in the ongoing saga of Hunter Biden’s laptop involves his lawyer deposing the computer repairman who owned the shop where Biden left his laptop, according to Axios.
This is just one step in Biden’s aggressive new legal strategy as he faces scrutiny over documents on the laptop that revealed his foreign business dealings. Biden’s lawyers argue that while the repairman, John Paul Mac Isaac, had rights to the hardware of the computer abandoned in his repair shop, the digital contents had not become his property. Biden’s lawyers do not admit the vice president’s son gave his laptop to the repairman.
Biden’s lawyers have also countersued Mac Isaac in March after the shop owner sued CNN, Politico, Biden, and others last year for defamation. Biden left his laptop at Mac Isaac’s shop in April 2019. Mac Isaac gave the FBI a copy of the laptop hard drive in late 2019, and provided a copy to Trump lawyer and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani shared the contents with media outlets.
Biden has asked the Justice Department and the Delaware attorney general to investigate how Mac Isaac and Giuliani handled the laptop. Biden’s lawyers said they plan to depose Giuliani, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
