Hunter Biden plea deal: Meet Maryellen Noreika, the surprising judge.

Delaware Federal Judge Throws Curveball in Hunter Biden ⁤Plea⁣ Deal

Judge Maryellen Noreika, a former patent lawyer and appointee‍ of former President Donald ⁤Trump, is making waves as she oversees the controversial plea deal between Hunter Biden and prosecutors.

Initially expected ⁣to approve the agreement, which would have allowed Biden to avoid a felony gun charge and instead plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors, Noreika is now indicating a different stance.

Expressing Frustrations

During a recent hearing, Noreika expressed frustration with the attorneys involved, questioning the piecemeal nature ⁣of the ongoing investigations into Biden. When informed that there is ⁤still an active ‌investigation into the president’s son, she demanded answers.

Experience on ⁢the Bench

Noreika brings a ⁤wealth of experience to the bench, having presided over various high-profile cases. One notable case involved a lawsuit against Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) by the owner of a Delaware computer repair shop, where Hunter Biden ‍left behind his infamous⁢ laptop hard drive.

While Noreika dismissed the suit against Schiff, she allowed litigation ⁢involving Hunter Biden and news outlets⁤ CNN and Politico to proceed in the state’s courts.

Last year, Noreika also sentenced Jeremy Johnson, a Wilmington resident, to five years in prison for possessing a firearm in connection ⁣with a drug trafficking crime.

It remains to be⁢ seen‍ how Noreika will ultimately⁤ rule on the Hunter ‍Biden plea‌ deal, but her unexpected approach has ‌certainly added a⁣ twist⁢ to the proceedings.
