NYC Mayor: No End in Sight for Migrant Crisis, No Destruction Expected.
New York City Mayor Warns of Illegal Immigration Crisis
New York City Mayor Eric Adams issued a dire warning on Wednesday night, stating that the ongoing illegal immigration crisis under the Biden administration threatens to “destroy” his city. Speaking at a town hall meeting in the Upper West Side neighborhood, Mayor Adams expressed his concern over the continuous influx of tens of thousands of migrants from the southern border.
“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City,” the Democrat mayor said. “The city we knew, we’re about to lose,” he added.

According to Mayor Adams, over 110,000 illegal aliens have arrived in New York City since the spring of 2022, with approximately 60,000 still in the city’s care. He also revealed that the city is receiving around 10,000 migrants per month, including individuals from Venezuela, Ecuador, and various other parts of the world.
Mayor Adams estimates that if the situation doesn’t change, the illegal immigration crisis could cost New York City $12 billion over three years. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has also expressed concern and called on President Joe Biden to provide assistance to the state in terms of housing, support, and work authorization for illegal immigrants.
Adams Takes Aim at Texas Governor
Mayor Adams placed blame on Texas Governor Greg Abbott and President Biden for the overwhelming number of illegal immigrants in New York City. He accused Governor Abbott of initiating the busing of thousands of migrants to Democrat-led cities, including New York City.
In response, Governor Abbott defended the busing program, stating that it has transported over 35,000 migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities. Despite criticism and threats of legal action, Governor Abbott maintains that the program is necessary due to the overwhelming conditions in Texas’s border region.
Mayor Adams also criticized President Biden for failing to provide assistance to New York City in dealing with the influx of migrants. He emphasized the urgency of the situation and warned that the crisis could soon affect neighborhoods across the city.
