If The Dobbs Leak Investigation Were As Rigorous As The J6 Probe, Maybe We’d Know Who The Leaker Is

Chief Justice Roberts also issued a statement following the publication of the draft opinion by Politico. Roberts condemned the leak after acknowledging the authenticity and stressing that it was not the court’s final opinion. “betrayal of the confidences of the Court,” He called it “a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here.” Roberts also announced Curley, he was his director “to launch an investigation into the source of the leak.”

In its statement from last week announcing the results of Curley’s investigation, the court began by reiterating the “grave assault on the judicial process” the leak represented — something the court described as “one of the worst breaches of trust in its history.” Then, after summarizing Curley’s handling of the investigation, the court declared the investigative “team has to date been unable to identify a person responsible [for the leak] by a preponderance of the evidence.”
