IKEA lookalike ‘Swed House’ opens in Moscow to mixed reactions
MOSCOW( Reuters )- On Saturday, Swed House, a Russian equipment retailer that sells goods designed to resemble those produced by the Swedish juggernaut IKEA, opened its first location in Moscow.
Soon after Moscow began its” special military surgery” against Ukraine, IKEA and dozens of other Western companies halted all financial and manufacturing operations in Russia.
We strive to be like IKEA and have our own businesses and products, so we are not like them. Yes, we do have IKEA products as well, according to Mamedali Kasymov, common director of Swed House.
We sell them; between 15 % and 20 % of our inventory are genuine IKEA goods. Nobody forbade us from doing this because, according to him,” our inner Swed House products are also in high demand.” He was referring to the loaded store.
Prospects inside the shop who refused to provide their last names voiced different opinions.
” IKEA has been missing a lot suddenly. Let’s’s just say that this new store is a pleasant beginning ,” Natalia said.
People claimed that the space was inadequate.
” Product must not simply be piled on top of one another.” You may lie on beds and study the furniture because IKEA had a specific strategy for product placement, according to Iohann. The roads back is still very much if these men want to get better.
Before expanding into additional Russian regions the following year, Swed House previously plans to open five stores in Moscow malls, according to Kasymov. Last summer, IKEA initially resumed online sales, and a portion of the business always runs 14 MEGA-branded shopping centers in Russia.
