Florida’s Ambitious Plan to Become the 10th Largest Economy by 2030
Florida is setting its sights on becoming the world’s 10th largest economy by 2030, with a GDP comparable to South Korea. This bold vision was unveiled at the state Chamber of Commerce’s annual event in Orlando on Oct. 23 and 24, titled “Race to 2030 and Beyond.”
The conference showcased the Chamber of Commerce’s six pillars of business success: talent supply and education, infrastructure and growth leadership, quality of life and quality of places, business climate and competitiveness, civic and governance systems, and innovation and economic development.

The Chamber of Commerce’s President, Mark Wilson, highlighted Florida’s recent successes and compared them to the goals for 2030. Currently, Florida boasts a 2.8 percent unemployment rate and is the 16th largest economy in the world. The state also has the lowest debt per capita and leads the nation in net income migration.
