International Criminal Court issues arrest warrant for Putin

In response to the war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin was issued an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.

Friday’s announcement by the ICC of the warrant was made and he was declared to be in custody “allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”

International investigators are still not able to determine the exact number of deported children. However, Ukrainian officials claim to have identified more than 16,000 children who were sent to Russia.
