Charlie Kirk, the leader of Turning Point USA, also expressed his skepticism about the charge. He pointed out that Epps, who was captured on video urging people to storm the Capitol, somehow managed to avoid more serious charges like seditious conspiracy.

Others on social media expressed their outrage at the misdemeanor charge, arguing that Epps’ actions on January 6 should warrant more severe consequences. The case has sparked conspiracy theories that Epps may have been a federal informant.
