GOP Rep: J6 Committee Manipulated Evidence to Fit Narrative
Audit Reveals Manipulation and Omissions in January 6 Committee’s Findings
A Republican congressman has uncovered disturbing evidence suggesting that the House select committee investigating the events of January 6 manipulated its findings to fit a political narrative. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration, conducted an audit of the committee’s records and discovered significant gaps and omissions.
According to Loudermilk, the committee’s primary objective was to create a narrative that tied former President Donald Trump to the attack on the Capitol. He criticized the committee for spending $18.5 million only to produce a manifesto against Trump. Loudermilk obtained the committee records from its former chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), and found that key facts about the riot were deliberately omitted from the final report.
One of the most shocking revelations was evidence suggesting the presence of plain-clothes law enforcement officers among the rioters, who were allegedly encouraging people to enter the Capitol. Loudermilk also accused the committee of manipulating evidence and making false claims, including one that targeted him personally. The report falsely stated that Loudermilk gave a tour of the Capitol to a man who later participated in the riot. However, Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger confirmed that Loudermilk’s tour did not enter the Capitol building.
In addition, Loudermilk discovered a lack of information regarding the security measures in place at the Capitol on that day. Despite the committee’s investigation into this aspect, little evidence from their research was included in the records provided to Loudermilk. He raised concerns about the possibility of suppressed records, suggesting that the committee may have deliberately withheld information that contradicted their desired narrative.
Notably, Loudermilk found a letter from Thompson to the White House and the Department of Homeland Security, which appeared to contain a manifest of records received by the committee. However, these records were not included in the evidence boxes. Loudermilk believes that these records should not have been returned and is now working to retrieve them.
With these troubling discoveries, Loudermilk emphasizes the need to uncover the truth and investigate the conduct of the January 6 committee. He questions how much of the committee’s report is simply a fabricated narrative. The audit has shed light on the committee’s questionable practices and raises concerns about the integrity of their findings.
