Investment Banker Jumps Off NYC Rooftop Bar in Suspected Suicide

Connecticut-based founder and partner, 46 years old investment Firm is dead after it fell dozens of stories from a rooftop restaurant in New York City Wednesday night.

The incident is being investigated by law enforcement as a suicide attempt.

According to the New York PostWitnesses witnessed the man, who has not been identified, leap from the Hyatt Centric Times Square Bar 54 balcony around 6:30 pm. He was unconscious when police arrived at his location, which is fifty-four floors below street level.
 

“We are truly heartbroken at the situation that occurred this evening outside our rooftop bar,” In a statement, Tom Blundell, general manager of Hyatt Centric Times Square, said that. “and we are keeping the victim’s family and friends in our thoughts and hearts.”

“We are working closely with local authorities,” he added. “Safety and well-being for all of our colleagues, hotel guests and Bar 54 guests is a top priority. We will, therefore, keep the outdoor bar’s door locked at all times due to this tragic incident.”

As the New York Post reports, court documents show the man and his wife had filed for divorce on Tuesday. In 2008, police were called to their home twice after reports of domestic disputes, one of which was said to have been regarding financial matters.

This marks the second time in four months that someone has met their demise from NYCThe highest rooftop bar in the city. 

The October edition of the Aspire NYC model Elizabeth Gaglewski fell Over the railing, she fell to the 27th Floor where she was declared dead. According to some reports, she was on a ledge near the bar when her fall occurred.
