Israeli antiquities on loan to Trump White House stored at Mar-a-Lago: Report

Antiques from the ⁣Middle East ‍Allegedly ⁢Stored‌ at Mar-a-Lago

Classified⁤ documents are not the ‍only ⁢things that have allegedly been stored‍ at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, as antiques⁢ from the Middle East ⁣have also reportedly ‍been‍ stored in the ⁢South Florida complex.

According to a‌ report from the Israeli ‍newspaper Haaretz, several ⁤antiques from ⁤Israel,‍ loaned to ⁣the White⁢ House nearly four years ago,⁤ have ⁢ended up at Mar-a-Lago,⁤ and‍ Israeli‌ authorities are⁢ trying to retrieve them.

Ancient Treasures and Bureaucratic Difficulties

The ⁤antiques ⁣in trump-white-house-being-kept-at-mar-a-lago-report/” title=”Israeli antiquities on loan to Trump White House stored at Mar-a-Lago: Report”>question include ancient ⁤ceramic oil ‌lamps that are said to be⁤ part of Israel’s national treasures collection. These⁣ items were‍ originally⁤ shipped‌ to ⁣the⁢ United‌ States for a ⁢Hanukkah event⁢ at the White ‌House in 2019⁢ during Trump’s ⁣presidency. ⁣However, ⁤due to “bureaucratic difficulty,” they were not displayed.

Unfortunately, ⁣the ‌items were not returned⁢ in a ‌timely⁤ manner due to ‍the COVID-19 pandemic and ⁢other distractions, as stated in the report.⁣ It is alleged⁤ that‌ these antiques⁤ were⁢ among ⁤the items moved from the White House‌ to‌ Mar-a-Lago ⁢when‍ Trump left ‍office in 2021.

Classified Materials and Legal Proceedings

In addition ‌to the antiques, other⁣ items reportedly transferred to ⁤Trump’s ‌residence included ‍classified materials, ‌for ⁢which the former president ⁢is facing charges in⁤ federal‍ court. ⁣A⁣ key⁤ hearing‌ is scheduled ⁤for Tuesday in Florida ‍to determine how these allegedly classified materials will be handled. Trump‍ was arraigned for the charges in ⁢a federal ⁣courthouse ⁣in ⁣Miami‌ last⁤ month.

It ⁤is‌ worth noting⁢ that this report coincides⁤ with President Joe ⁣Biden hosting Israeli President⁤ Isaac Herzog for a bilateral meeting at the White⁤ House. ‍Herzog is also set to ‌address a‌ joint ‍session⁤ of‌ Congress during his⁢ visit to the⁤ U.S.

Meanwhile, Republicans in the House of Representatives are planning‌ to ⁤force a ‌vote ⁢on a ⁤resolution reaffirming support for‍ Israel. This⁣ comes after Rep.‍ Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) made antisemitic comments‌ over the weekend, which she‍ has‌ since ⁤retracted and apologized for.
