‘Grown-Up ‘Trans Kid’ Reveals Horrors of Trans Surgeries in Candace Owens Interview: A Science Class Experience’
During a captivating hour-long interview with Daily Wire host Candace Owens, 22-year-old Briana Ivy shared the harrowing details of the irreversible transgender treatments and surgeries he has endured since he was a minor. Ivy, a transgender individual who was assigned male at birth, revealed the physical and mental toll he experienced after being operated on by a surgeon he found through controversial TikTok-famous surgeon Sidhbh Gallagher.
Recalling his time in the hospital immediately after the ”bottom surgery,” Ivy described the intense fascination medical professionals had with his case. Nurses, residents, and various individuals would come in and marvel at his young age and the rarity of the procedure. It felt like a science class, with Dr. Joshua Roth bringing in multiple residents to observe Ivy’s pain and immobility.
From a young age, Ivy felt different from other boys and found solace among girls in his class. Influenced by cultural moments like the media attention surrounding Jazz Jennings, Ivy became increasingly uncomfortable with his body and, at the age of 14, confided in his parents about being transgender. This led to a visit to a gender clinic, where a 30-minute discussion with a social worker quickly led to a prescription for hormone blockers and additional hormones. By the time Ivy turned 19, he had already undergone two transgender surgical procedures.
One of these surgeries, known as “bottom surgery,” involved using a portion of Ivy’s stomach lining to create a vagina. However, the aftermath brought searing pain that still persists today, and Ivy’s genitals do not resemble those of either sex. He had to endure a catheter for a month, constant dilation exercises that felt like knives inside him, and excessive bleeding.
When Ivy expressed his concerns and pain to the surgeon, he was told to continue with the dilation exercises, despite feeling shredded inside. Eventually, Dr. Roth acknowledged the need for another surgery to fix complications from the first one. However, two different doctors refused to perform any surgery due to the trauma Ivy had already experienced. Ivy left a voicemail explaining this to Dr. Roth but never received a response.
The entire process destroyed Ivy’s mental health, but he has found solace in recently reconnecting with his faith. However, seeking legal recourse for what happened to him has proven challenging. Lawyers require a board of surgeons to determine if the procedure was experimental, and without their agreement, Ivy has no case. Furthermore, his access to medical records seems to have been wiped, leaving him with no paper trail of his experiences.
This interview deeply affected Owens, who expressed both pride and haunting emotions. She believes that children being influenced on TikTok to permanently alter their bodies is the greatest evil society is currently fighting against. Owens thanked Briana for his bravery in sharing his story.

How did social media influence Ivy’s decision to undergo hormonal treatments?

While the decision to undergo medical procedures to transition genders is a deeply personal one, Ivy’s story reveals the potential risks and consequences that can accompany these treatments, particularly when started at a young age. With the growing visibility of transgender individuals in mainstream media, it is important to have an open and honest discussion about the long-term effects of these procedures.
One of the notable aspects of Ivy’s story is the role that social media played in his decision-making process. The controversial TikTok-famous surgeon, Sidhbh Gallagher, gained popularity for their transgender surgeries on the platform. Ivy, like many others, saw these videos and was influenced by the promises of a transformative experience. However, what he encountered was far from what he had expected.
The experience of being operated on at such a young age undoubtedly took a toll on Ivy’s physical and mental well-being. In his recounting of the hospital stay, he describes feeling like a mere object of curiosity, surrounded by medical professionals who were more interested in his case’s uniqueness than in his own personal comfort. The voyeuristic nature of this experience raises important ethical questions about the way transgender individuals are treated within the medical field.
Furthermore, Ivy’s journey highlights the need for a more compassionate and thorough approach to transgender healthcare. While it is crucial to provide support and options for individuals struggling with their gender identity, it is equally vital to ensure that they are well-informed about the potential risks and long-term consequences of transitioning at a young age. Ivy’s experience serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us of the importance of an open dialogue between medical professionals and patients.
In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the potential harm caused by irreversible transgender treatments and surgeries. Many experts argue for a more cautious approach, advocating for a period of exploration and therapy before pursuing medical interventions. Additionally, there is a need for more comprehensive research into the long-term effects of these treatments, to better understand their impact on individuals’ overall well-being.
Ultimately, Briana Ivy’s story sheds light on the complexities surrounding transgender healthcare. It serves as a reminder that each individual’s journey is unique and requires careful consideration. The experiences of transgender individuals should not be reduced to mere fascination or objectification. Rather, they should be approached with empathy, understanding, and a commitment to providing the best possible care. By engaging in open conversations and giving voice to stories like Ivy’s, we can strive to create a healthcare system that is inclusive and supportive of the transgender community.
