New York congressman Jamaal Bowman recently sent a “recap” newsletter to his constituents, but surprisingly, he failed to mention the terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel. Instead, the Democrat focused on his efforts to combat climate change and revolutionize public education.

Sharon Shire, a registered Democrat residing in Bowman’s district, expressed her disappointment, stating, “The newsletter is shockingly silent about the attack on Israel, the worst attack in Israel’s history and one of the most gruesome barbaric unfathomable incidents. And it’s very disappointing.”
Bowman’s office, which did not respond to a request for comment, typically shares a monthly “recap” newsletter on its website at the end of each month. However, the September “recap” was sent to constituents via email on Wednesday, several days after Hamas launched its terrorist assault against Israel. The latest recap has not been posted on Bowman’s website.

Bowman is not the only Democrat facing criticism for failing to acknowledge Israel in post-attack statements. Michigan Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer also faced calls to resign after omitting any mention of the Jewish state in her statement on Hamas’s terror attack.
“I have been in touch with communities impacted by what’s happening in the region,” Whitmer said. “It is abhorrent. … We need peace in this region.”
