During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Comer emphasized the significance of a timeline showcasing financial activities and communications between Biden and his son Hunter. However, the National Archives’ refusal to cooperate by providing emails with pseudonyms used by Biden during his vice presidency has led Comer to believe that an impeachment inquiry is imminent.
Impeachment Inquiry Looms as Evidence Mounts
“I am here to tell you, Sean, Joe Biden was front and center,” Comer stated. “He met with every one of these people that he claimed he never met with, that he never spoke to, and we are putting together the timeline where Hunter Biden was traveling to many of these countries on Air Force Two while Joe Biden was vice president.”
Comer further revealed that there is a growing consensus within their conference that an impeachment inquiry is necessary. While the final decision rests with Speaker McCarthy, Comer believes they have reached a point where an inquiry is inevitable.
Moreover, Comer believes that the impeachment inquiry will serve as a valuable tool when they present their subpoena for the emails containing a Biden pseudonym in court.
Investigation Expands to Bribery and Money Laundering Allegations
Comer explained that their current requests for documents are part of a broader investigation into whether Biden himself was involved in bribery and money laundering. He stated, “We know that the president’s son committed money laundering. We’re investigating whether or not Joe Biden committed money laundering, but we’re pretty certain he’s committed some pretty serious offenses that I think the entire Congress will be concerned about.”
Comer concluded by expressing his hope that the National Archives will not stonewall their request for the pseudonym emails, as they have previously done with the mishandling of classified documents related to Biden.
