James Van Der Beek Gets Emotional Discussing His Wife’s 2019 Miscarriage: ‘So Much Pain’
Actor James Van Der Beek Kimberly spoke out candidly about Kimberly’s 2019 year. Miscarriage It was so devastating for them both.
The actor at 46 spoke long about what happened during the new episode. “Bathroom Chronicles” podcast, per People. Van Der Beek was competing in the reality competition. “Dancing with the Stars” Kimberly was 17 weeks pregnant at the time.
He describes the feelings of his wife “off” That night she went to the bathroom and began having miscarriage.
“It was just so much pain, and it was so unexpected because everything was right, everything was fairy tale. Everything was coming together perfectly,” Van Der Beek spoke on the podcast. “It progressed very quickly into being worried about Kim. We were both just crying and sobbing and there was a lot of blood. Way more blood than any delivery.”
“And then Kim lied down in the shower and then wasn’t waking up. So that’s when I called 911,” He continued. The “Dawson’s Creek” The alum remembered that he decided to stay home with the five children instead of accompanying his wife to the hospital following the arrival of the emergency team.
Van Der Beek started to process the events after Kimberly had been taken to the hospital. “You were gone,” He addressed his wife and said this. “The ambulance had taken you away. I got Gwen back to bed. And I’m just sitting there in a bathroom full of blood. And, dead little baby on the counter. It was just a gut punch, an emotional gut punch.”
Van Der Beek finished his run. “DWTS” Even though he lost his child so close before the end, he did it. He claimed he did it at the request of his wife.
The actor has spoken before about miscarriage.
“Miscarriage (a word that needs a replacement — nobody failed to ‘carry,’ these things sometimes just happen) is something that people rarely talk about, and often go through in secret,” He Submitted Instagram, 2019
It was discussed by the actor. “in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love and support from friends and family when they need it most.”
Kimberly and Van Der Beek welcomed Jeremiah their sixth child in November 2021, after suffering two late-term losses.
