Actor James Woods voiced his frustration on Sunday over a White House calendar that was quickly filling up with days, weeks, and even entire months dedicated to all or part of the LGBTQ community: “America now officially celebrates mental illness a full one third of the calendar year.”
Woods initially responded to President Joe Biden and his administration’s decision to go ahead with the Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31, despite the fact that this year, Easter Sunday fell on the same date.
“Joseph Biden ridicules Christians on our holiest of holidays…,” Woods posted, sharing a screenshot of the White House proclamation — issued on Good Friday even as Christians were commemorating the death of Jesus on the cross — calling on all Americans to join him in “lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people” on the 31st: Easter Sunday.

Woods followed that post with another showing all of the days that the U.S. government had set aside to recognize all or part of the LGBTQ community throughout the year.

- September 16-23: Bisexual Awareness Week
- September 23: Celebrate Bisexuality Day
Woods delivered one more follow-up after posting the list, noting that approximately one-third of the year — almost exactly four months — was filled with similar days, weeks, and full months celebrating the LGBTQ community in some form or fashion.
