Jared Kushner says ‘zero’ chance of seeing Ivanka Trump on father’s campaign trail

Jared Kushner said there is a “zero” chance he and his wife, Ivanka Trump, will join his father-in-law, former President Donald Trump, on the campaign trail less than a week before Election Day.

Kushner, who runs a $3 billion private equity fund partnering with the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, said he and his wife will continue to be removed from politics if the former president is elected.

“We’re rooting for him — obviously, we’re proud of him,” Kushner told the New York Times. “But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward.”

Aside from attending the Republican National Convention this summer, Ivanka Trump was absent from her father’s campaign trail this election. She also didn’t make an appearance at his hush money trial in New York, where he was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business.

This is a stark contrast to her previous involvement in her father’s past two campaigns and even landing a position in his administration, which forced her to relinquish her holdings in several of her clothing and jewelry lines that, eventually, were dropped by retail stores.

In 2022, right after her father’s campaign announcement, Ivanka Trump said she had no plans to be involved in politics.

Kushner served as a senior adviser to Trump from 2017 to 2021, but he has also said he would not be returning for a second Trump administration.

While Ivanka Trump has attended birthday parties for celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, and Miami Formula One Race events, her sister-in-law, Lara Trump, has taken up the torch of leading women voters to the former president.

Appointed Republican National Committee co-chairwoman earlier this year, Lara Trump has been at her father-in-law’s side at rallies and town hall events and going to bat for him on major network TV interviews.

However, Susan Del Percio, a Republican political strategist, shared with the New York Times that Ivanka Trump and former first lady Melania Trump’s absence from the former president’s side has remained telling to voters, who’ve wrestled with his sexual assault allegation and abortion stances. Melania Trump shared in her recently published memoir that she supports abortion access.

“The positives that she could make on the trail is marginal, but the fact that she and Melania are not on the trail could be significant,” Del Percio said.
