Country Star Jason Aldean Provides Health Update After Concert Incident
Country star Jason Aldean provided fans with a health update after he was forced to end a concert early on Saturday night while suffering effects from the heat.
The recording artist shared more details via Instagram stories. “I’ve had a lot of people checking on me today after hearing about what happened [Saturday] night at the show in Connecticut. Just wanna let you know, thanks to everybody who’s calling in, checking. I’m doing fine. Just one of those things. Man, it was hot, I was playing golf all day yesterday and then got to the show and just – I think it was a combination of dehydration and just heat exhaustion,” Aldean said.
“So hearing a lot of stuff going around ‘heat stroke’ all this stuff. Uh, I don’t think it was quite that serious, but um, it was pretty intense last night,” he continued.
The incident occurred at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford. Aldean was having a hard time getting through his song “Crazy Town.” He stepped back from the mic to cough, then tried to get through the next line before eventually running off the stage.
The venue later shared an update from Aldean’s rep, blaming his early departure on the heat. The country star later apologized to fans and promised to reschedule the show.
“Anyone who was at the show knows how hot it was. … Something just kind of – I knew it was coming. I was trying to get through as much of the show as I could and eventually it was like, I knew it wasn’t gonna happen and I was trying to just get off-stage and figure out what’s going on,” Aldean said.
The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer also described some of the treatments he underwent. “I had a couple of IVs. I had one [Saturday] night when I came off-stage, had one this morning,” he said.
Aldean’s wife, Brittany, also reassured fans on social media by posting, “Thanks for the messages, Jase is doing better!”
The country star made headlines Tuesday over his song, “Try That In a Small Town.” The track was released in May but recently gained traction after liberal media outlets reported it has racist messaging.
