Jennifer Aniston (Indirectly) Slams Cancel Culture
Jennifer Aniston approaches interviews with caution.
Unlike some actors, such as Sean Penn, Sarah Silverman, or John Leguizamo, Aniston is careful with her words and rarely says something that could turn audiences against her. However, in a recent press appearance, Aniston expressed her thoughts on culture, comedy, and cancel culture. Currently, Aniston is promoting “Murder Mystery 2”, a film in which she stars next to Adam Sandler playing Audrey Spitz.

Aniston discussed cancel culture without actually using the term. She explained, “Now it’s a little tricky because you have to be very careful, which makes it really hard for comedians, because the beauty of comedy is that we make fun of ourselves, make fun of life.” Aniston believes that freedom of expression should be restored to comedy so it can continue to educate people in a humorous way.
She also mentioned that people nowadays often find her blockbuster sitcom “Friends” to be offensive, despite the fact that this was never the intention. Aniston wants more humor for people because she believes that society needs it more than ever.
With her statement, Aniston may have indicated that she is tired of the new rules for humor, realizing that limiting artists may result in lower-quality works. Alternatively, she could have been influenced by her friend and comedy co-star, Adam Sandler. Aniston and Sandler have a long history, having worked together in three films and been friends for decades. In any case, Aniston’s opinion is generating conversation among the public.
