Jeremy Renner Airlifted To Hospital After Reported Snowblower Accident
After being injured by his snowplow at his Nevada residence, Jeremy Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee was listed in stable but critical condition Sunday night.
Renner’s home, roughly 25 miles from Reno, Nevada, was within the severe winter storm that hit New Year’s Eve, causing the loss of power for roughly 35,000 homes in Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Storey, and Lyon counties. Renner, 51, was apparently airlifted to a nearby medical facility.
“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” A spokesperson stated that the company added, “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care,” According to the Daily Mail.
“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” Washoe County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Kristin Vietti said.
Oscar nominations were received for Renner’s Best Actor for 2010 “The Hurt Locker” and Best Supporting Actor for 2011’s “The Town.”
Renner is also well-known for his role as Avenger Hawkeye, in the Marvel movies. “The Bourne Legacy” William Brandt and the “Mission Impossible” movies. He stars in the following movies. “The Mayor of Kingstown” and Marvel’s “Hawkeye” series, Deadline noted.
Renner posted a picture of himself driving his snow blower to Instagram last December. “I have so much respect for Mother Earth, and Mother Nature … I expect to lose the fight but I’ll always give it my best shot.”
Renner owns a lot of fire trucks that he repairs. “I had 30 fire trucks a hundred feet from a hydrant,” he told Men’s Health in an interview. “Not because they’re there to firefight, but they all potentially could.”
“I work with the fire departments up there and they are pretty awesome,” He stated. “They are teaching me and helping me, and I still have to get some more hours in with them.’
Renner said of his role in “The Hurt Locker,” “So many soldiers would come up to me like, ‘This is something I cannot explain to my wife. Now she can watch and have a f***ing understanding of what the f*** I’m talking about.’ And it helped their marriage. They were going to get divorced. They’re done. This guy did like eight tours—f***ing eight tours. Insane.”
“This is not cinema,” He continued. “We’re not talking about people sitting at this theater and eating popcorn and watching a movie. A different thing was happening.”
He spoke of the overwhelming response from veterans and recalled: “It was amazing, man. I don’t get that out of a Marvel movie.”
“I try to do things with a flow,” Renner stated, “and never square peg/round hole something. Why force it? Water flows over a rock. It doesn’t just stop when it hits an obstacle; it moves around it, right? That’s how it is with life. It’s my religion, my belief system. Whether it be a bus or a movie or a home or how I parent, that’s in everything I do.”
