Jill Biden’s Press Secretary Departs White House
Michael LaRosa, First Lady Jill Biden’s press secretary, is the latest official to depart the Biden White House.
“For nearly three years, from the campaign to the White House, Michael has brought an encyclopedic knowledge of politics and media to my team as my spokesperson and adviser,” Jill Biden told CNN. “On a small team, loyalty and friendship are lifelong – we will miss Michael. However, we are excited for him to begin a new chapter in his career.”
LaRosa started with the first lady during President Joe Biden’s 2019 campaign and became her press secretary at the start of 2021, according to CNN. (RELATED: ‘Blaxit’: White House Sees Massive Exodus Of Black Staffers)
During his time at the White House, LaRosa also served as a special assistant to Biden. He’s just the latest in a string of officials leaving the administration over the course of 2022. Many of these departures have come from Vice President Kamala Harris’s office.
Harris, however, is not alone. The president has seen his own string of departures, including high-level officials like former White House press secretary Jen Psaki and former senior adviser Cedric Richmond.
As of July 20, Biden’s “A-Team” has seen 29% of positions turn over, according to data compiled by Brookings.
LaRosa reportedly plans to join a public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., according to CNN.
