JK Rowling defends comments: Cancel culture is ‘the language of a dictator’
HJ.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, has reacted to threats that she received since she made comments in defense biological sex being used as the standard for defining a man and woman.

“I’m coming to that article on the background of what I see as huge injustice and people trying to shut women down,” Rowling stated. “So I was angry, and I was flippant.”

“Did I mean to drop a hand grenade in? No. I was just keeping a rein on my own fury,” Rowling commented on Rowling’s first tweet. “So off it went.”
