Joe Biden rallied support for his domestic agenda in Michigan. The Democrat visited a union training facility northwest of Detroit in Howell on Tuesday.

During his speech, Biden pitched his $1 trillion infrastructure plan as well as his larger bill to expand the nation’s social safety net and combat climate change. While both bills remained stalled in legislative limbo, Biden promised the investments would get the U.S. “back in the game” and become competitive with China.

“These bills are not about left versus right, or moderate versus progressive or, anything that pits Americans against one another,” he stated. “These bills are about competitiveness versus complacency. They’re about opportunity versus decay. They’re about leading the world or continuing to let the world pass us by which is literally happening.”

Biden added his economic agenda invested in the middle class, which he highlighted was the backbone of America.
