Joe Biden addressed the U.N. as he said preventing further nuclear proliferation was a top priority for the U.S. At his speech in New York on Tuesday, he said the U.S. was ready to support any nation in the world that strived for peaceful resolutions to conflict.

According to Biden, there were global problems that could only be solved by working together and warned the alternative was everyone would fail alone. One of the most important global problems has been that of nuclear proliferation, which was something Biden promised to try to prevent.

“The United States remains committed to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. We’re working with the P5+1 to engage Iran diplomatically and to seek a return to JCPOA,” he explained. “We’re preparing to return to full compliance if Iran does the same. Similarly, we seek serious and sustained diplomacy to pursue the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

Biden’s call to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula comes on the heels of the North testing new missiles systems capable of carrying nuclear warheads from trains.
