Durham appeared before the House Judiciary Committee to discuss his report criticizing the FBI’s handling of the investigation into alleged links between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia. During the hearing, Cohen questioned Durham about Trump’s judgment of character and his opinions on Barr. Durham refused to comment on Trump’s character but stated that, in his experience, Trump’s insults against Barr were unfounded.
When Cohen pressed Durham further, asking if Trump is a bad judge of character, Durham cleverly responded, “That’s outside the scope of my report,” eliciting laughter from the room.
Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) commended Durham’s response, saying, “Well said, God bless you,” followed by a round of applause. The hearing continued with another lawmaker addressing the witness.
