In 2010, Goodman shared with People magazine that he managed to lose an impressive 100 pounds by eliminating alcohol and sugar from his diet. He also sought the guidance of health coach Mackie Shilstone to help him achieve his health goals.
“It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a** and figure out what you’re going to eat next … I wanted to live life better,” Goodman explained.
Shilstone, the health coach, emphasized that Goodman’s transformation was a gradual process. She advised him to follow a “Mediterranean-style eating plan,” which included consuming mostly fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables, and fruit.
In addition to his dietary changes, Goodman committed to exercising six days a week and aimed to achieve a daily step count of 10,000 to 12,000.
