John Stamos, ‘Full House’ Cast Post Statement On Bob Saget’s Death
In the wake of Bob Saget’s death, John Stamos, who starred with Saget on the show “Full House,” alongside other cast members and show creator Jeff Franklin, posted an Instagram statement. The statement, signed by major members of the cast, read:
Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family. Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob.
The post was signed by Stamos, series creator Jeff Franklin, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, Andrea Barber, Scott Weinger, and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Lori Loughlin said in another statement, “Words cannot begin to express how devastated I am. Bob was more than my friend, he was my family. … I will miss his kind heart and quick wit. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories and laughter. I love you Bobby.”
The Saget family released a statement reading, “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
Only hours before the 65-year-old Saget was found dead in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday afternoon, he posted on Instagram:
Okay, I loved tonight’s show in Jacksonville. Really nice audience. Lots of positivity. Happened last night in Orlando last night at the Hard Rock Live too. Very appreciative and fun audiences. Thanks again to @comediantimwilkins for opening. ‘ had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. In the hours on Sunday night following news of Saget’s death, Stamos tweeted, “I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”
