Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IO) suggested Israel will need the United States’s leadership amid the attack from Iran.
Ernst appeared on Fox News Saturday, hours after Iran launched a drone attack against Israel. Since the launch, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Saudia Arabia, and Jordan assisted in shooting down the drones.
“It is unprecedented what Iran has done, and we have got to assist the Israelis any way possible to push back against this threat,” Ernst said. “So we see the successes when America chooses to lead and this is what we need at this moment is American leadership that will step forward and support Israel.”
Israel has many allies due to the Abraham Accords, for which the senator expressed her gratitude.
