Jordan Subpoenas FBI Executive In Conservative ‘Purge’ Inquiry
Republican Representative Jim Jordan from Ohio is ramping up his investigation into allegations of politicization within the FBI by subpoenaing an executive from the agency. Jennifer Leigh Moore, the Executive Assistant Director of Human Resources at the FBI, was subpoenaed after refusing to answer questions during her transcribed interview about the FBI’s retaliation against whistleblowers who have come forward to raise concerns about abuses they have seen at the Bureau. The House Judiciary Committee, which Jordan heads, is charged with investigating the “weaponization” of the federal government. Last year, House Republicans demanded information from law enforcement and intelligence leaders, and they released a report summarizing allegations of politicization in the Justice Department and FBI raised by “a multitude” of whistleblowers. Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have criticized their GOP counterparts’ inquiry into the Department of Justice and FBI as “partisan.”
