Joy Behar and Rachel Maddow Fear Trump Could Silence Them if He’s Reelected
In a television segment, MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow and ABC’s “The View” host Joy Behar expressed concerns that if former President Donald Trump were reelected, he might attempt to remove them from the airwaves. During the broadcast, they discussed their belief that Trump would use his power to target and punish his critics. Maddow highlighted a pattern where Trump focuses on individual critics to intimidate them. Behar also suggested that the fear of becoming targets due to their outspoken criticism was a realistic concern, despite some viewing it as overdramatic.
MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow and ABC’s “The View” host Joy Behar predicted on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump, if reelected in November, would take them off the air.
The two liberal hosts, during Tuesday’s broadcast of Behar’s midday talk show, posited that Trump would use any tool at his disposal to punish his critics — which both of them agreed they were.

“So you said recently that you thought you, as an outspoken critic, could be a target yourself,” Behar prompted Maddow. “Some people think that sounds overdramatic, but I’m right there with you.”
“I think that he is so vindictive that he will go after [us], however he has to, through the IRS maybe, or even through sponsors, to get us off the air maybe, or you.”
Behar asked Maddow to elaborate on her previous comments — she had told CNN last week that she believed Trump planned to build camps and put people in them.

”I’m worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within,’” Maddow said on CNN.
She went on to tell Behar that she was worried for herself, but no more than she worried about anyone else who might be critical of Trump.
“I think it’s bad,” Maddow continued, claiming that Trump had “asked” for as much power as possible and had promised to use it against Americans once he had it.
Maddow also claimed during her appearance that Trump was not actually running against incumbent President Joe Biden, but rather, he was “running against democracy.”
