Mrs. Lake is thrilled about the progress being made. She confidently stated, “We’re moving forward.”
The trial, presided over by Superior Court Judge John R. Hannah Jr., will begin on September 21 at 9 a.m. Exhibits for the trial must be submitted by September 14.
Earlier this year, a Maricopa County Superior Court judge ruled in favor of Mrs. Lake’s request to access affidavit envelopes. The judge emphasized that the court is not required to defer to the elections officials’ interpretation of the law.
Maricopa County lawyers argued that ballot affidavit signatures are confidential under state law. However, Judge Hannah disagreed, stating that the ballot affidavit itself is not a voter registration record.
Mrs. Lake has been fighting to contest the results of the 2022 election, alleging that Republican voters were disenfranchised due to voting machine problems and issues with the signature verification process for mail-in ballots. Despite previous dismissals of her lawsuits, Mrs. Lake remains determined and has even expressed her willingness to take her challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Potential Senate Race?
In addition to her ongoing legal battle, Mrs. Lake has hinted at a possible run for Arizona’s Senate seat in 2024. This could set up an exciting three-way race between her, former Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), and Democratic Senate candidate Ruben Gallego.
When asked about her potential Senate run in a recent Fox News interview, Mrs. Lake responded, “I’m contemplating it. I mean, I could go off and go back into media and make a fortune, but this is not the season for that, this is the season for saving our country.” She plans to make a decision in the coming months.
Mrs. Lake believes that running for Senate presents an opportunity to prevent a socialist or worse from taking the seat and to have an America First senator in D.C. She is seriously considering the possibility and will announce her decision soon.
