Kamala Hires Advisers To Polish Her Image: Reports
Vice President Kamala Harris is apparently recognizing how deeply unpopular she is with the American public; reports indicate she has hired two veteran advisers who help craft politicians’ images in order to shore up her image with the American public.
“Lorraine Voles and Adam Frankel, who worked with Harris during the transition, have joined the team and will focus on strategic communications, long-term planning and organizational development, a White House official with knowledge of the matter said,” Reuters reports. The official added, “Their experience has been and will continue to be a valuable resource for our whole team, as we map out long-term planning and fulfill the administration’s ambitious policy agenda.”
“Lorraine Voles, a crisis communications expert, and Adam Frankel, a former Obama speechwriter, worked for Harris during the presidential transition and have extensive experience crafting messages from the White House and the corporate world,” The Washington Examiner reported, adding, “Among the services Voles advertises on her website, ‘crisis management’ and ‘marketing and rebranding’ earn top billing.”
“The hires come amid a sense of anxiety among some Democrats about Harris’s first year as vice president. Many in the party view Harris, who ran an unsuccessful campaign for president, as a leading candidate to take the mantle from the 78-year-old President Biden either in 2024, should he choose not to run for reelection, or in 2028,” The Washington Post reported.
Despite the fact that President Biden had designated Harris to lead the administration’s efforts to deal with the illegal immigrant crisis at the southern border, Harris took until late June to visit the southern border.
The BBC reported, “Critics said Ms. Harris should have visited a tent complex at nearby Fort Bliss, where migrant children are being held. A BBC investigation of the Fort Bliss detention centre found reports of sexual abuse, Covid and lice outbreaks, hungry children being served undercooked meat and sandstorms engulfing the desert tent camps where the young people are being held.”
In mid-August a survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports found that a whopping 55% of respondents felt Harris was not qualified to be president. The national telephone and online survey asked, “How qualified is Kamala Harris to assume the responsibilities of the presidency?”
“Only 43% of Likely U.S. Voters think Harris is qualified to assume the duties of the presidency, including 29% who think she is Very Qualified. That’s down from April, when 49% said Harris was qualified to become president. Now, 55% say Harris is not qualified to assume the duties of the presidency, including 47% who say she is Not At All Qualified,” Rasmussen wrote.
The Daily Wire reported on August 2:
Vice President Kamala Harris has only been in office for six months, but she is already the most unpopular vice president since at least the 1970s, according to recent polls.
The Los Angeles Times on Monday reported that as of July 27, “45% of registered voters had a favorable opinion of Harris and 48% had an unfavorable opinion — a net rating of -3 percentage points, according to a Times average.”
The most recent YouGov tracking poll shows that Harris’ unfavorability rating has hit 49%, while her favorability rating sits at just 45%.
