Kanye West Defends Claymation Video Of Burying Pete Davidson Alive, Says ‘Art Is Therapy’

Kanye West raised some eyebrows, even among fans, when a new music video depicted a claymation version of Kim Kardashian’s current paramour Pete Davidson meeting a terrible end. The video shows the clay Davidson replica being kidnapped, tied up, and buried alive.

The song which inspired this is called “Eazy” and includes the lyric, “God saved me from that crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a**.”

At the end of the video, the words, “EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER / EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO / JK HE’S FINE,” which references the nickname West gave to Davidson in previous social media posts.

Ye released the song in January after rumors abounded that the project would reference Davidson, who’s been spotted out and about with Kardashian for a few months now. However, some are saying the claymation violence went too far. West insists it’s just “art.”

“Art is therapy just like this view,” the 44-year-old father of four shared to Instagram on Sunday. “art is protected as freedom of speech. art inspires and simplifies the world. Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm.”

He continued, “Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended.”

The video was released only hours after Kardashian was granted legally single status in court and given the right to use her maiden name.

Ultimately, social media commenters weren’t amused by the joke. Filmmaker James Gunn defended Davidson directly. His comment described the “SNL” star as “one of the nicest, sweetest guys I know” and a “truly generous, tender & funny spirit.”

“Big Bang Theory” actress Kaley Cuoco, who is co-starring with Davidson in the romantic comedy “Meet Cute,” replied to that sentiment by saying, “Fact,” with a red heart emoji.

The mostly one-sided war between Davidson and West has been waging basically since the “SNL” star started seeing Kardashian. West made no secret of wanting to reconcile with his ex-wife of nearly seven years and saw the comedian as a hindrance to that effort.

Ye’s social media is mostly scrubbed of older posts but fans remember multiple occasions when he came after Davidson.

On Valentine’s Day, West pleaded with fans to “scream” at Davidson if they saw him in real life. “My family means more to me than any other accomplishment in life,” West wrote on his Instagram post. He instructed fans to scream at the “loser” at the top of their lungs saying, “Kimye forever.”

The rapper also shared a photo of an alleged text conversation with Davidson. The “SNL” star expressed that he hoped to meet West’s children and “all be friends.”

“No, you will never meet my children,” the “Donda” rapper wrote in the now-deleted post caption.

West has also been linked to other women, including model Julia Fox and an Instagram star named Chaney Jones who shares an uncanny resemblance to the rapper’s ex-wife Kardashian.
