Kari Lake appeals midterm election case again.
Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake Appeals Election Case, Alleges Sabotage by Maricopa County Officials
Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has taken her election case to the next level by filing an appeal with the Arizona Court of Appeals. Lake claims that new evidence has emerged in her 2022 midterm-related lawsuit, pointing to intentional sabotage by Maricopa County officials.
“New evidence produced by Maricopa STRONGLY suggests County officials intentionally sabotaged the 2022 General Election, then gave false testimony attempting to cover up their misconduct,”
– Kari Lake
In her appeal, Lake specifically targets Scott Jarrett, a top Maricopa County elections manager, accusing him of providing false testimony regarding issues that occurred on Election Day in November 2022. On that day, Maricopa County officials announced problems with voting machine printers, which resulted in some voters having to go to alternative polling locations.

The appeal highlights Jarrett’s false testimony regarding the rejection of ballot tabulators due to misconfigured, speckled, or faded BOD-printed ballots. BOD stands for ”ballot on demand.”
“In reality, vote-center tabulators rejected BOD-printed ballots at a rate of over 7,000 every 30 minutes from 6:30 am, shortly after the polls opened, through 8:00 pm, after the polls closed,”
– Appeal statement
The appeal argues that the resulting chaos caused long lines and wait times, ultimately impairing the right to vote for tens of thousands of predominantly Republican voters. It claims that Arizona elections are now in uncharted territory.
Maricopa County and Scott Jarrett have yet to respond publicly to Lake’s appeal. The Epoch Times reached out to Maricopa County for comment but received no response as of press time.
Previously, Maricopa County lawyers dismissed Lake’s claims of intentional malfeasance by county officials in relation to Election Day printer problems. Jarrett attributed printing issues to insufficiently dark toner, which led to some voters placing their unreadable ballots in a secure box for later counting.
Since the November midterms, Lake and her team have filed multiple lawsuits and appeals in an effort to challenge the election results. However, all of their attempts have been rejected by multiple judges.
Despite her opponent, Katie Hobbs, being sworn in as governor earlier this year, Lake has not conceded the race. In July, she appealed to the Arizona Supreme Court, alleging that around 8,000 unreadable ballots were misconfigured on Election Day. Her initial lawsuit, filed last year, claimed that thousands of voters in Maricopa County were disenfranchised.
Recently, Lake filed a motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit brought against her by Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer. Richer accused Lake and her team of making false accusations and attempting to sabotage the midterm elections, which resulted in death threats against him. The motion argues that Richer has the right to dispute their speech but cannot use a lawsuit to silence it.
Looking ahead, Lake has hinted at the possibility of running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat-turned-independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
“I’m contemplating it. I mean, I could go off and go back into media and make a fortune, but this is not the season for that.”
– Kari Lake
What impact did the previous court finding on Maricopa County’s signature verification process have on Lake’s appeal, and how does it contribute to her argument of corruption and misconduct within the election system
Many Arizona residents. Lake claims that this intentional sabotage by Maricopa County officials was a deliberate attempt to suppress the Republican vote and manipulate the outcome of the election in favor of the Democratic candidate.
Lake’s appeal also points out the discrepancy between the official announcement made by Maricopa County officials regarding the problems with voting machine printers and the actual number of rejected BOD-printed ballots. According to the appeal statement, the rejection rate was much higher than what was initially reported, indicating a potential cover-up by the county officials.
This appeal comes after a previous court finding that Maricopa County’s signature verification process for mail-in ballots was deemed unlawful. In that ruling, the judge determined that the county did not have proper procedures in place to verify the authenticity of voters’ signatures, potentially allowing for fraudulent votes to be counted.
With these new developments and evidence, Lake is confident in her appeal and believes that it will expose the corruption and misconduct within the Maricopa County election system. She is determined to fight for a fair and transparent election process, ensuring that every vote is counted accurately and that the will of the people is respected.
Lake’s appeal has garnered significant attention and support from her supporters and conservatives who are concerned about the integrity of the election system. They see her case as a crucial battle in the larger fight to protect democracy and maintain trust in the electoral process.
On the other hand, critics argue that Lake’s claims are baseless and that she is simply trying to delegitimize the election results because she did not win. They argue that there is no concrete evidence to support her allegations of intentional sabotage and that these accusations only serve to further divide the electorate and undermine faith in the democratic process.
As the appeal moves forward, it will be interesting to see how the Arizona Court of Appeals responds to Lake’s claims and whether or not any further investigation will be conducted into the alleged misconduct by Maricopa County officials. Regardless of the outcome, this case highlights the importance of ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in elections to uphold the democratic principles upon which our nation was founded.
