Kari Lake Responds to Claim She Could Be Trump’s 2024 Vice President

Arizona GOP candidate Kari Lake responded to reports claiming that she is atop the list of possible running mates being considered by former President Donald Trump, coming after she won a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) poll over the past weekend.

The Arizona Supreme Court will be reviewing Lake’s case regarding her midterm election. Lake claims that issues at Maricopa County’s polling stations on Nov. 8, were so severe that it is necessary to retake the election or declare the winner.

“I am 100 percent dedicated to serving as Arizona Governor,” Lake told Daily Mail Tuesday “I will also work to make sure President Trump gets back in the White House ASAP.”

Lake also added “anything outside of those two goals is nothing but a distraction” She claimed that she had won the gubernatorial elections again. In January, her opponent Katie Hobbs (Democrat) was sworn into office as Governor.

Arizona has two lower courts that have rejected Lake’s election challenge. Judges ruled that Lake failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that Republican voters were suppressed in both Arizona courts.

CPAC’s vice president straw poll revealed that Lake (a former TV journalist) came in at No. 1. With 20 percent of votes. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came in second, and a former governor of South Carolina was third. Third was Nikki Haley who last month announced her 2024 presidential candidacy.

“Our best days are ahead of us and it all starts with electing America-First candidates all across this country,” Lake spoke to the Mail.

This week: report from AxiosAccording to anonymous sources, Trump may be considering Lake as his vice president pick. According to the report, Lake also echoed Trump’s statements that the 2020 election was fraught in fraud.

Others who are reportedly being considered include Haley, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (South Dakota Gov.) are also being considered. Kristi Noem according to an Axios Report. According to the Axios Report, Kristi Noem hasn’t made any public comments on the Axios article. “some close to Trump.”

Steven Cheung, a campaign spokesperson, denied the allegations in Axios’ article. He said, however, that his organization was not responsible for them. “anyone who thinks they know what President Trump is going to do is seriously misinformed and trying to curry favor with ‘potential’ V.P. candidates.”

“President Trump will choose his running mate on his own time,” Cheung said, “and those who are playing the media game are doing so at their own peril.”

Steve Bannon (a former White House aide, 2016 Trump campaign manager) stated to NBC News earlier this year that he believed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was aspiring to become Trump’s running mate for 2024. Greene has yet to respond publicly.

“This is no shrinking violet. She’s ambitious—she’s not shy about that, nor should she be,” He said this in January. “She sees herself on the short list for Trump’s VP. Paraphrasing Cokie Roberts, when MTG looks in the mirror she sees a potential president smiling back,” Bannon said more.

Mike Pence (Trump’s ex-vice president) did not attend CPAC this weekend. Pence’s media presence has increased in recent months. He comments on many political hot topics and speculates that he will run for President in 2024.

Pence also gave another hint in a speech a few days back. Fox News interview He would declare his candidacy for the presidency in the very near future.

“The American people love competition,” Fox News interviewed Pence. “And it’s a free country. Everyone is entitled to vie for offices in this country of their choosing … I do believe that different times call for different leadership.”

Pence had previously stated that he would decide in spring whether to run. Others who could run are former Secretary of States Mike Pompeo, DeSantis and Sen. Tim Scott (R.S.C.), ex-Gov. Chris Christie, plus many others. Vivek Ramaswamy, a businessman, was interviewed last week announced his candidacy For president.

During CPAC, Trump easily won the group’s presidential straw poll, beating out DeSantis—the No. 2—by about 40 percentage points. Trump received 62 percent; DeSantis was awarded 20, while Perry Johnson, a businessman, got 5 percent.
