Jean-Pierre had been asked about video of her dancing with the cast of A Different World, who visited the White House earlier this month. The press secretary explained that she likes to listen to various songs from artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift before she takes the podium for press conferences.
“So we’re trying to get, ’cause the job is hard,” Jean-Pierre said on the daytime talk show Sherri. “The job is hard, and it’s hard not just for me, but for all of my colleagues. It’s a difficult job what we’re trying to do on behalf of the American people for this president.”
Jean-Pierre also talked about how she came to know President Joe Biden when he was vice president for then-President Barack Obama. She also said that she would not choose to work in the White House if Biden was not serving as president, stressing how her job is “incredibly hard.”
Regarding the November elections, Jean-Pierre reiterated past statements from others how important the election is and how voters need to decide where they want to see the country go. She then claimed that this election is a decision to either go forward or backward.

“And of course, we should go back — forwards, not backwards,” Jean-Pierre said, correcting herself.
The election is likely to be a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump, the presumptive presidential nominee for the Republican Party. Both candidates will also have to contend with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for president this year as an independent.
