During a press briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary jean-pierre” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Karine Jean-Pierre clashed with Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy over immigration numbers. Jean-Pierre had previously claimed that President Biden’s actions had led to a 90% decrease in illegal immigration, a statement that Doocy sought to clarify. However, Jean-Pierre interrupted Doocy and accused him of being overly dramatic.

Clarifying the Numbers

Doocy asked Jean-Pierre where the 90% decrease number came from, citing federal immigration officials who claimed that there had been 136,000 more people crossing the border this fiscal year. Jean-Pierre responded by saying that the decrease was due to the parolee program that the president had put in place to limit illegal migration from certain countries. She claimed that the data showed a decrease of more than 90% due to the program.

A Testy Exchange

When Doocy attempted to get further clarification, Jean-Pierre cut him off and began to talk over him. She eventually called on another reporter, shouting “Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.” as she did so. The exchange was caught on camera and has since gone viral.
