Kathy Barnette bows out of 2024 Pennsylvania Senate consideration: ‘I am not interested’

CKathy Barnette, an onservative strategist, has closed the doors to a 2024 campaign Pennsylvania Senate.

Barnette is a former Army soldier who enjoyed a late stage surge in the 2022 GOP primaries for the Keystone State’s. Senate Finally, she finished in third place. A host of GOP operatives tried to court her former rival businessman. David McCormickTo run for Senator Bob Casey’s (D–PA) seat.

“Instead of playing coy, I wanted to come out and say I am not interested,” she Submitted Politico. “I thought about it, and I wanted to be real clear.”

Barnette is not preparing for another run. She is instead focusing on 2024’s presidential hopeful. Vivek Ramaswamy By leading a grassroots effort. Barnette had appeared to abandon a possible Senate run the day before.

“At this particular juncture, we have not made a decision on what it is that I’m going to do,” she Submitted WPHT.

A recent poll According to the Public Policy Polling group, Barnette received 11% support for a hypothetical primary. This was compared to McCormick’s 21% and Doug Mastriano’s 39%. Mastriano revealed that he is. “praying” Pennsylvania Republican insiders have been jittered by the possibility of a run for Senate.

“As a warning to Republican Pennsylvania voters, we need to take into very strong consideration not just who can win a primary in a landslide, but who will win and work extremely hard to win in the general because that’s ultimately what matters,” Barnette stressed that Politico.

She didn’t clarify whether she was speaking of Mastriano, who lost to Gov. Josh Shapiro won by about 15 percentage points in the 2022 election cycle.

“We have the better policy ideas, but as we have witnessed, it’s not ideas alone, but who is willing to do the hard work of getting in front of all the people and convince them,” She added.

McCormick also published a book Tuesday. Superpower in Peril – A Battle Plan to Renew AmericaIn a move that has fuelled 2024 buzz, he laid out a conservative agenda. He recently hired two veterans political operatives from Sen. Marco Rubio’s campaign work. According to The Washington Post.

McCormick lost the primary to Dr. Mehmet Oz by a slim margin of just 1,000 votes. Oz was defeated by Senator John Fetterman, D-PA. The Washington Examiner Barnette representatives were contacted for comment.
