Kathy Hochul labels Republicans, Trump supporters as ‘anti-woman’ and ‘anti-American’ – Washington Examiner

New York Governor Kathy Hochul recently made headlines for her remarks on MSNBC, where‌ she characterized⁢ Republican voters in her state as “anti-woman” ⁢and “anti-American.” During her interview with Al Sharpton on ⁢the ‍show *PoliticsNation*, ⁤Hochul ⁣linked Republican candidates to former President Donald Trump, suggesting that supporting these candidates equates to endorsing Trump’s values, which she labeled ‍as damaging to American ideals.

Hochul criticized the Republican stance on issues such as abortion and women’s rights, claiming that those ⁤who vote for Republican candidates are turning their backs on core American values. Her statements were part of a broader trend‍ among Democratic leaders who have intensified‌ their rhetoric ⁢against Trump and his supporters, particularly as the presidential campaign heats up.

Republican figures, including Rep. Elise Stefanik, responded strongly‌ to⁢ Hochul’s comments, recalling previous derogatory labels ⁣directed at conservative voters,‌ such as “deplorables”‌ and “Nazis.” The criticism reflects a⁣ growing polarization in the ⁣political conversation leading up to the elections, with prominent Democrats increasingly⁤ condemning their adversaries in stark terms.

Kathy Hochul labels Republicans, Trump supporters as ‘anti-woman’ and ‘anti-American’

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) went on a tirade against Republican voters in her state, demeaning them as anti-woman and anti-American, during an appearance Saturday on MSNBC’s PoliticsNation with host Rev. Al Sharpton

New York’s governor made the comments while discussing recent events related to the upcoming presidential election, including former President Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden. Hochul told Sharpton that the rally backfired on the former president, and it provided her fodder to tie Republicans running for office in her state to Trump before attacking them as “anti-American” and ”anti-woman.”

“If you’re voting for these Republicans in New York, you are voting for someone who supports Donald Trump, and you’re anti-woman, you’re anti-abortion, and basically, you’re anti-American because you have just trashed American values and what our country is about over and over, and you wear this on Election Day,” Hochul said.

Incidentally, as Hochul mentioned “trashed American values,” her comments come just a few days after it was revealed President Joe Biden called Trump supporters “garbage” in a leaked Zoom video while also commenting about the former president’s rally in Madison Square Garden.

Hochul’s comments also come after a week in which Harris and her Democratic surrogates and supporters increased their inflammatory rhetoric against the former president and his supporters. With Hochul’s most recent condemnations, Republicans and Trump supporters have been called fascists, Nazis, garbage, and now, anti-women and anti-American in the last two weeks of the presidential campaign.

Many Republicans took to social media to criticize Hochul’s comments, including Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who noted the recent harsh insults from left-wing politicians.

“First, they called us ‘Deplorables.’ Then, they called us ‘Nazis,’ Stefanik posted on X. “Then, Joe Biden called us ‘garbage.’ Then, they said no ‘strong intelligent’ women support Trump.”

“Now Kamala Harris’ top surrogate Kathy Hochul – the Worst and most unpopular Governor in America – calls voters ‘anti-women’ and even ‘anti-American’ if they support Republican candidates,” Stefanik added.

“The Democrat Party led by Kamala Harris is an absolute disgrace as they smear American patriots who want to save our country by supporting President Trump and Republicans,” Stefanik said. “Shamefully, the closing argument from Kamala Harris’ campaign is to attack voters. One of many reasons why it will be a losing campaign.”
