Kevin O’Leary argues Harris must ‘distance herself’ from Biden to win election – Washington Examiner
In a recent interview, Kevin O’Leary, a star from “Shark Tank” and an international businessman, shared insights on how Vice President Kamala Harris could improve her chances for the 2024 election. He suggested that Harris needs to distance herself from President Joe Biden and adopt a more centrist campaign strategy to appeal to a broader voter base. O’Leary warned that if Harris continues to attack big pharma and big business, it would label her as overly left-leaning, potentially harming her chances of winning.
He emphasized the urgency for Harris to develop clear policies and address key issues such as taxes and border security. O’Leary believes that failing to create a distinct separation from Biden’s policies, which he described as “radioactive waste” for voters, could provide a competitive advantage for former President Trump. His comments were made during a segment on Fox News, where he expressed hope for Harris to recognize the need for this strategic shift as the election approaches.
Kevin O’Leary argues Harris must ‘distance herself’ from Biden to win election
Shark Tank star and international businessman Kevin O’Leary advised Vice President Kamala Harris on several steps she needs to take to win the 2024 election, including ditching President Joe Biden.
O’Leary wondered if Harris could run a campaign that is more centrist, which could win over voters who do not align with a specific party. He cautioned that if Harris’s strategy is simply to “bash big pharma” and “big business,” it would make her appear as “a leftist,” as she has throughout her vice presidency and make a loss more likely.
“So my prediction is, and we’ll know more next week after the convention, she has to get rid of Biden,” O’Leary said on Fox News’s The Story with Martha MacCallum. “I understand the heritage thing and everything, but she’s got to distance herself from Bidenomics, that is radioactive waste for voters! So, if she doesn’t bring some daylight in and go to the center, she’ll just lose, and I’m sure she knows that. That’s free fodder for Trump. And I’m not trying to diss Biden or be partisan, but that’s a losing strategy.”
O’Leary also stressed the need for Harris to establish her policies and how she plans to address the topics that voters face, including taxes, border security, and energy. He also argued that Harris must demonstrate she can discuss her policies without a teleprompter, as being able to conduct interviews and defend her policies live is very important.
“Has she learned anything about how to deal with it in a one-on-one basis?” O’Leary said. “That’s going to be where the tire hits the road.”
Since taking Biden’s place as the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Harris has yet to conduct an interview with the press. X owner Elon Musk has offered to do a live discussion with Harris on X, similar to the one he did with former President Donald Trump on Monday night.
Sports journalist Stephen A. Smith has also offered to interview both Harris and Trump.
