Kid Rock takes direct action after Bud Light choose transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney as the latest poster girl for their brand.

Bud Light Partners with Transgender Influencer

Mulvaney, a 26-year-old documented her gender transition on TikTok, announced her partnership with Bud Light in a video she posted on social media on Sunday.

“This month I celebrated my 365 days of womanhood and Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever — a can with my face on it,” she said in the video.

Kid Rock Takes Action

The Daily Mail reported that Kid Rock posted a video of himself on social media shooting at cases of Bud Light with an automatic gun, sending a “clear and concise” message to Bud Light after they teamed up with Mulvaney.

“F*** Bud Light, and f*** Anheuser-Busch. Have a terrific day,” Kid Rock concluded.

Backlash Against Kid Rock

The backlash against Kid Rock over the video was swift. “It felt violent and threatening and made me fear for the people I love who are trans come to the fore yet again as hate is celebrated. What are we becoming as human beings that this kind of behavior is tolerated?” Susie Green, community director of GenderGP, a transgender health provider, told Newsweek. Gemma Stone, the co-founder of news site Trans Writes, said that Kid Rock’s video was the perfect “example of fragile masculinity” and that the singer “managed to come across as even less masculine than the incredibly feminine Dylan Mulvaney, whom his impotent protest is about. Bravo Kiddo.”

However, others agreed with Kid Rock, boycotting Bud Light as a result of the partnership with Mulvaney.

Bud Light Stands By Mulvaney

Despite this backlash, Bud Light has stood by Mulvaney stated that the beer can with her face displayed on it was a personal “gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.”

Bud Light works with hundreds of influencers across their brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics. From time to time, they produce unique commemorative cans for fans and brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney,” a company spokesperson added.

Bud Light’s partnership with Mulvaney could either be a successful move, or it could ultimately backfire on the brand.
