Kirby’s Veteran Rebuff Confirms White House’s Disdain For Military
In a recent incident involving the Biden Administration, John Kirby, National Security Communications Advisor, dismissed a group of veterans critical of the administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, labeling them as “all of one stripe.” This comment was made after veterans, including Rep. Cory Mills, expressed dissatisfaction with Kirby’s response to a House GOP report detailing the chaos of the 2021 withdrawal that resulted in the deaths of 13 service members. During a press briefing, Kirby called the report “one-sided” and wrongfully accused the Biden administration of lacking transparency.
An email, mistakenly sent to Fox News Digital, revealed Kirby’s further dismissal of the veterans’ concerns, stating there was “obviously no use in responding” to a “handful” of them. After realizing the error, Kirby stated he stands by his comments from the briefing. This situation highlights a broader theme where Biden administration officials have faced criticism for allegedly insulting veterans, a narrative often used against former President Donald Trump. In a notable parallel, Vice President Kamala Harris recently revived the ”suckers and losers” rhetoric towards Trump while addressing his participation in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, despite her own controversial role during the Afghanistan withdrawal.
In the Biden Administration’s latest “suckers and losers” scandal, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby waved off a group of veterans critical of the Democrat regime’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal as being “all of one stripe.”
The rebuff came on Wednesday after Fox News Digital asked Kirby to weigh in on quotes from four veterans, including Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who were unsatisfied with the White House official’s reaction to a new House GOP report highlighting “the chaos and instability” that took 13 U.S. service members’ lives in 2021.
During a White House press briefing on Monday, Kirby claimed that the 350-page report was “one-sided,” “partisan,” and wrongfully accused the Biden administration of “deception, lying, or lack of transparency.”
In an email chain intended for White House staffers on the National Security Council, Kirby remarked that there was “Obviously no use in responding” to the comment request because it came from “A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe.” Kirby did not notice at the time that his reply copied Fox News Digital.
“Clearly, I didn’t realize you were on the chain,” Kirby later clarified.
In an official statement, Kirby admitted to the accidental reply-all but claimed to “stand by my comments in the briefing room.”
Democrats like Kirby often accuse former President Donald Trump of insulting the U.S. military. Since 2020 they and corporate media have specifically capitalized on a fake news report that falsely accused Trump of insulting the deceased World War I soldiers in France by calling them “losers” and “suckers” to advance this talking point.
The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg specifically claimed without evidence that Trump “did not believe it important to honor American war dead” and refused to visit the cemetery where they were buried because it would mess up his hair.
Nearly two dozen Trump White House officials debunked the hit piece, which only received “confirmation” from one source outside of Goldberg. Even the fake fact-checkers at Snopes admitted there is “no evidence of an audio or video recording of the remarks in question, nor was there any documentation, such as transcripts or presidential notes, to independently confirm or deny the alleged quotes’ authenticity.”
It’s Biden administration officials, including the president, vice president, and now Kirby, however, who are on the record insulting veterans behind their backs and to their faces.
Over Labor Day weekend, Vice President Kamala Harris revived the “suckers and losers” line in her attempt to vilify the former president for participating in a wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery.
Harris, the “last person in the room” during the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal, claimed she will “always honor the service and sacrifice of all of America’s fallen heroes.” The Gold Star families who lost their loved ones at Abbey Gate, however, said neither Biden nor Harris has ever reached out to them.
A few months before Harris’ political stunt, President Joe Biden was caught lashing out against Democrat Rep. Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger who received a Bronze Star Medal for his role in the 82nd Airborne Division.
During the exchange on a New Democrat Coalition strategy call in July, Biden demanded Crow, who served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, “Tell me who did something that you’ve never done with your Bronze Star like my son.”
From checking a watch during a ceremony for deceased service members to brushing off veterans’ legitimate concerns, it’s clear that Biden, Harris, and Kirby, not Trump, are the ones who show contempt for men and women who have risked their lives for the country.
