Kroger buying rival Albertsons in $24.6B merger

The nationwide supermarket chain, Kroger, has introduced its intend to buy fellow grocery huge Albertsons in a $25 billion offer.
In a declaration released on Fri, Kroger unveiled its programs to get Albertsons for $34.10 a share. The offer would merge two of the biggest grocery chains in a offer valued at $24.6 billion.
Kroger may be the largest supermarket chain country’s, employing 420,000 employees at 2,700 shops. Albertsons closely follows. The supermarket employs 290,000 workers at 2,300 shops.
Customer Watchdogs, Unions and many Democrats have criticized the offer over anti-trust concerns. They will have warned that the consumer could possibly be hurt by a merger.
At the same time when food costs are soaring because of corporate greed, it will be an absolute disaster to permit Kroger, the 2nd largest supermarket in the us, to merge with Albertsons, the 4th largest supermarket in America. The Biden Management must reject this offer.
