Congressman Andy Barr (R-Ky.) introduced a bill in honor of his late wife. The Kentucky lawmaker took to Twitter Tuesday to announce he has secured more than 125 co-sponsors for the CAROL Act so far.
The bill is named after Barr’s 39-year-old wife who died suddenly in July 2020 from heart disease. The congressman said the legislation will help establish funding for life-saving research and increase public awareness about the disease.
