Kyle Busch To Go Trophy Hunting in the Xfinity Series With Kaulig Racing

After previously announcing his retirement from the series in 2021, Kyle Busch has announced that he will be returning to the Xfinity Series as Kaulig Racing’s driver.

Busch shared a video to his social media highlighting Tom Brady and Michael Jordan’s retirement announcements alongside his own. It also featured their subsequent return announcements. The video then cut to a person pretending that he is a news anchor.

The anchor states “The following statement was released today by Kyle Busch through his agency, Rowdy Driver Services, located in Mooresville, North Carolina in response to questions about his future career plans in the NASCAR Xfinity series: I’m back.”

Busch said, “Did you miss me? I’m back.”

Kaulig Racing announced via Twitter that Busch would drive for them in their No. 10 car, “We’re proud to announce Kyle Busch, the all-time-record holder for NXS wins, will pilot our No. 10 Chevrolet for five races in 2023!”

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the five races: Phoenix Raceway in Phoenix, Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen International and Darlington Raceway in Charlotte.

Busch went on to share Kaulig’s announcement to his official Twitter account writing, “Heard u like trophy hunting…”

In a press release, Busch said, “I’m looking forward to having some fun in the Xfinity Series again.”

He said, “What Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice have built in just a few short years at Kaulig Racing is impressive, and with the team’s alliance with Richard Childress Racing (RCR), this made for an easy decision to be back competing in a series that I’ve had success in over the years.”

Kaulig Racing President Chris Rice said, “Kyle Busch is a true competitor and will forever be known as one of the best – and winningest – NASCAR drivers of all time.”

“We’re excited to have a former Cup and Xfinity Series champion bring his experience and knowledge to our team. There is no doubt in our minds that Kyle will help our Xfinity Program grow and contend for wins this year,” He said.

Busch will share No. 10 car along with Justin Haley and AJ Allmendinger throughout the season. According to the press release, Busch is currently the winningest driver in NASCAR Xfinity Series, with 102 wins. His most recent win was at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Busch won all five races he began in 2021. He has a 28.17% winning percentage in the series.

He has also won 70 pole awards and led 20,088 laps in the series. He has 263 top 10s and 225 top 5. He finishes the series on an average 8.9.
