Lara Logan Blasts Biden, Says Women Will Suffer ‘Long Slow Death’ Under Taliban

Fox Nation host and former chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News, Lara Logan, has repeatedly blasted President Joe Biden and his administration over the botched, fatal withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“What President Biden is doing is basically condemning American citizens to death in Afghanistan,” Logan said last week on Fox News airwaves. “He is condemning our American allies to death in Afghanistan … you start to feel like you are in the twilight zone.”

“Can you imagine the deputy commander of the Taliban, the head of the Haqqani Network, Siraj Haqqani,” she emphasized. “They are the Afghan al Qaeda. He swore allegiance, loyalty to Usama bin Laden. Haqqani’s manifesto, that he released more than a decade ago, is exactly al Qaeda’s manifesto.”

Within a matter of hours of Biden’s telegraphed withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban took over the country’s capital. Under Taliban rule, women will face a “long low death,” Logan said, adding that the “lucky” women in Afghanistan will be “slaughtered quickly.”

“It is a long slow death,” the journalist said. “If you’re unlucky. If you’re lucky, you’ll just be slaughtered quickly, because that is what life is like for women under the Taliban, a long slow death”

Holding back tears, Logan continued, “It is the end of freedom, it is the end of possibility. It is the end of hope. It is the end of light.”

The former “60 Minutes” correspondent said many women will be forced into sex slavery and denied basic human rights.

“It is the beginning of a life of possibly sexual slavery, which is a nice way of saying being raped everyday by a man you don’t love,” she explained. “Being denied the ability to love. You are denied the ability to have your own family. To have privacy. To have a dream.”

“It is the end of everything that is good in us.”

Logan discussed her firsthand experience as a journalist embedded with the Taliban. “Everything that was difficult about life in Afghanistan under war became much more difficult under the Taliban,” she said. “Women were not allowed to work, attend school or leave their homes without a male presence.”

“Women were beaten if their belt buckles were too shiny,” detailed Logan. “Girls were not fed in the orphanages until the boys have been fed—and there wasn’t enough food for the boys. On top of that, there is no joy in tyranny and rule by terror.”

In recent days, spokesmen for the Taliban have claimed they will give women rights and fight progressive causes like climate change. Logan called the promises mere “propaganda talking points as agreed upon by its political masters and backers.”

“What they’re not saying is will they allow women to work, will they allow women to be treated by a male doctor, will they allow young girls to go to high school,” she explained. “No, no is the answer. … They may hang a few token women out there to pretend to the world that something has changed, but I can promise you, it hasn’t.”

Logan also recalled a firsthand experience she had with a Taliban leader that exemplified the Taliban’s disdain for women, Fox News reported:

Logan recounted an interview she was conducting with a Taliban commander in the back of a car. She said he took her on a “guilt trip” as he described how hard his life had been.

“There was the human part of my heart that was feeling a little bit guilty, a little bit sad, a little bit of pain,” Logan told Fox News.

“Then, he looked through the window of the car and everything about this man changed,” she said. It was “instant, it was this deep rooted anger and hatred, and he became a completely different person.”

“He was looking through the window of the car and there were two Afghan women waiting to cross the road and they had the full hijab on but their faces were not covered by the burka,” Logan told Fox News. He said it was “disgusting.”

Logan recounted how the Taliban commander began “spewing vitriol, hatred” and told her “if you were not here right now, I would kill those women myself.”

“They have dishonored me, they have dishonored Allah, they have dishonored the Taliban, they have dishonored the Islamic Emirate, I am filthy right now,” the Taliban commander told Logan.
